Still not sure what you want to do for New Year's Eve? I think it would be interesting if people brought their own food and shared their experience and since so many of KAFFEE SCHWARZ's patrons are from different countries, it seems logical if they brought along one of their favorite dishes which, in turn, is representative of their tradition and country to share with the rest of us. Hence, international. This kind of event is what we call a POTLUCK dinner. According to Wikipedia, a POTLUCK is:
"...a gathering of people where each person or group of people may contribute a dish of food prepared by the person or the group of people, to be shared among the group."
so in a sense, "the luck of the pot"
Some of the best evenings I've ever had, which have felt meaningful were those where everyone contributed something. The only other thing I ask of you is to buy the drinks from Kaffee Schwarz so that I can at least go into the new year in a good way. Who knows? If this is a success, maybe we can make it into a tradition (but we'll cross that path when we get there). Important things to know: It will start on December 31st at around 6 pm and will go on till early early early. Bring a bit of food, friends and a good spirits.
